about

Land is a contemporary, hand-knotted, grey short pile wool rug with a large stripe pattern. Rectangular, it comes in three shades of grey with playful hand-applied short wool fringes. Ideal for the living room or dining room under a table, it is available in sizes 170x240, 200x300 and 250x350 cm.
Crafted in India from wool using the Tibetan knot technique, it brings a distinctive design to contemporary interiors. A fusion of 4 shades of grey, taupe and brown, the pattern is arranged in a harmonious combination of neutral and relaxing hues. The 4 large horizontal stripes of increasing size are organised in bands of tone-on-tone nuances ranging from the lightest to the darkest.
The delicate palette is enriched by the fun touch of fringes in different colours. Vibrant red on warm Grey for an urban style, turquoise on the relaxing sandy palette of Turtledove, pearl on Lava anthracite for sleek home decors.

  • Manufacturing Process

Manufactured in India, Land rugs hand-knotted at 40 knots per square inch, or 62,000 knots per square metre. The knot used is the so-called Tibetan or asymmetrical knot. This ancient weaving technique is unique in the world. A rod is temporarily placed in front of the warp along the entire length of the carpet. A continuous thread is wound around two threads of the warp and then once around the rod. When an entire line is completed, the threads around the rod are cut to create the knots and pile. The result is a high density of knots, which make the rug very wear resistant.
