Designed for Bodema by the Studio RES creators, Olivier represents the perfect unification of extreme functionality and modern design. The transformable structure can be dismantled into its components: an advantage to consider in the event of moving house, or when rearranging upholstered furniture. Furthermore, the practical aspect perfectly coexists with the formal project, creating a sofa bed for the living room which, thanks to attention to detail, can be placed in the centre of the room. The two padded backrests, slightly rounded to maximise comfort, contrast with the geometry of the long, single monobloc seat cushion. The cushions appear to be set between the couple of large armrests, shaped to accommodate the forearms in an ergonomic position. The attention to aesthetics is evident in the raised profile, which underlines the voluminous forms of the padding; in the minimalism of the visible feet in Wengé tinted wood, and in the upholstery selection of fabric, leather and velvet, with which one can personalise the sofa bed.
Regarding the mechanism, Olivier is a fold out sofa bed, transformable thanks to the folding backrest. The Lampolet opening system simplifies the movement of the base with wooden slats, resulting in quick and easy opening, and easy closure. Optimal rest is guaranteed by the quality of the Simmons pocket spring mattress, h.13 cm. Subject to Lap-Seal compression and sealing technology, the metal coils have a prompt response to mechanical stress, adapting to the shape and weight of the body.
